Hi,
I stepped back and continued searching; giving more distance to the snake, which lived there and was minding its own business. I was surprised how little fear I displayed. Geocaching has made me much less frightened of spiders, and I guess it's done the same for snakes. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.
